"I really couldn't be without them. It is lovely to have a carer, they do help you".

Our staff tell us that Candlelight is a good company to work for and over 98% say they would recommend working for us.

To ensure that we are supporting and meeting the expectations of our staff we recently conducted a Care Staff Survey. They told us overwhelmingly that Candlelight is a good company to work for and below are some of the comments we received.

"I think Candlelight are a great firm to work for and count it as a real privilege to be employed by them. I believe they give the best care possible to all the clients I see. All of the staff and especially my Care Staff managers work above and beyond their jobs to make the clients’ lives better. I feel free and open to discuss any problems and I feel 100% supported at all times". JW, Heathfield branch

“I think Candlelight is the best care company in the South West. I like having my regular clients’, it also gives them the continuity of care. Good training and communication help to make me feel supported. Our training manager is an excellent tutor”. NQ, Sherborne Branch

“My manager is very approachable, very helpful and understanding. It’s good to have a chat and find out how you are doing and a chance to discuss any issues. Its good to have training and updated training, it’s very important to my job role”.  SM, Trowbridge

My Care Staff Manager is always there with help and advice and the office all support me. I am kept well informed. It’s a good company to work for.” JJ, Glastonbury Branch

"I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to work for Candlelight within a great team." SA Heathfield branch

“My manager is very supportive . She has advised me in my role from a care/support worker right through to a Care Staff Manager, giving me the confidence I needed to do my job as well as being supportive with personal issues. She is always there to lend an ear”. DD, Glastonbury Branch

“If I visit a client I have not visited before I just call the office and they give me all the information I need. I always feel my care manager and office staff support me with my job as a carer. I think it’s a very good idea because not only does it pick up on things maybe you have forgotten to do, but when things are right you are praised and that feels good. All the training sessions I have attended have not only been informative but fun as well”. MB, Trowbridge Branch

“My Care Staff Manager made me feel like a valued member of staff during my assessment at the end of April.” EK, Trowbridge Branch

“I always receive support when I need it and am always happy in my caring role. The training is good and I am always keen to learn.” SL, Glastonbury Branch

“It is a rewarding and enjoyable job and helps people in need of care. I find everyone I work with very supportive”. KK, Trowbridge Branch

“It doesn’t matter how much or how little work you do, they always appreciate it. My line manager is great! You can talk to her on a personal level as well as professional basis and she’s always there to help with all aspects of the job”. K.C., Trowbridge Branch

"I do feel supported, there is always someone at the end of the line." JA, Heathfield branch

"Having been employed in the care industry for nearly 11 years, I feel Candlelight value me as an employee.” CB, Heathfield branch

An Afternoon To Remember

Some of our clients, singing along to songs from the 50's.

A big thank you to Wells Evening Society who provided a wonderful afternoon for some of our clients in the Glastonbury area, by treating them to a trip down memory lane and a delicious home-made tea.
